Parameters Optimization of Electrical Discharge Machining Process Using Swarm Intelligence: A Review

چکیده

Electrical discharge machining (EDM) can use soft tool electrodes to process hard workpieces achieve “soft against hard”, because it directly uses electrical energy and thermal remove metal materials. Then, generate complex features on harder materials meet the requirements of excellent surface quality. Since EDM involves many parameters, including non-electrical properties, is essential optimize its parameters obtain good performance. In this direction, application swarm intelligence (SI) technique has become popular. paper, existing literature comprehensively reviewed, SI in optimization summarized. Sinker-EDM (SEDM), wire-EDM (WEDM), micro-EDM (MEDM) with various hybrid techniques are among methods considered study their broad adoption industrial sections. The fundamental nature all review articles will assist engineers/workers determining processing performance, algorithm, optimal by which desired parameters. addition, discussions from perspectives similarity, individuality, complementarity algorithms proposed, necessary outlooks predicted, provides references for high performance processes future.
